Mission Statement: Welcome to jtpratt.com! I'm John Pratt and I want you to know that my web site should help you save both money and time. I've spent the last 2 years trying to become rich online, and I what I found is that there are no shortcuts. It's hard work. I've hit paydirt a few times, and one month I even made over $4,000. I thought I had it all figured out, until the money stream dried up and my "shortcut" failed to work anymore. This site is a work in progress, but mainly what I do is document what works for me and how I'm trying to build a sustainable income online to support my family and build a future working for myself. I spend more than a hundred hours a month posting my experiences and mistakes for you - all I ask is that you participate here (by commenting) with what is (and isn't) working for you, and if you decide to buy or signup for something I recommend, please follow one of my affiliate links. Remember, the only one stopping your success is you!

Advertise on Shoemoney

Looks like Shoemoney is now accepting adToll adverts, so last week when I read that I paid $20 to get a 125×125 add for a week. In Shoemoney’s AdToll ratecard his CTR rate isn’t high, but I feel that $20 is a bargain for a site that has 15,000 rss subscribers and large volumes [...]

Entrecard has released some new features in it’s dashboard today and retooled the design a bit. Dropped cards are now listed from left to right in the top in a smaller size, and when you mouse over them they “expand” like this:

Looking at ford.digitalsnippets.com you might just see another press release web site. But for the source code curious, under the hood you see the HTML code revealing that the site runs on open source Wordpress blogging software and uses a custom SMPR or Social Media Press Release theme developed by the Social Media Group.

If you want to make a living online you have to start building a monthly income. In 2007 I averaged $1,345 per month for the year, this is just over $16,000. This is not enough to quit my day job, but it is proof I am building wealth and sustainable income online and making progress [...]

You have a free tool at your fingertips to track stats for your blog that you could never afford to buy. Google Analytics is an enterprise class application, meaning it would cost Fortune 100 companies tens of thousands of dollars to license if it were for sale. But it’s free for anyone to use, [...]

Do you use Wordpress Plugins? Where did you find the best ones? Probably from blogs that were using them! The best plugins I’ve found were being used on blogs I read. Sometimes it was easy to figure out what they were called and where to get them, and other times I had to wade through [...]
