I would think that submitting some articles to other blogs would also be worthwhile particularly high traffic blogs in the same niche.

I have used software that utilizes Yahoo Answers, it’s a good way to get indexed pretty quickly and bring targeted traffic. The key is not to over do it or you’ll be marked as a spammer.

don’t forget directories! they may not be the best for traffic, but for relevant seo friendly links, they are a solid bet.

The profiles are a great idea. Actually there was a rather extensive list of sites that have profiles that allow links circulating around SEOMOZ. You may be able to get it from there. I've been searching around Google for valuable info about datafeedr and affiliates stores. Your series of posts have been so valuable to me. Now, I'm totally sold out to test datafeedr. I agree - I've overlooked the profile pages as a good place for some good exposure and also the free blog sites. I wonder though how often or how 'good' should the hub pages and free blog sites be relative to the site you are trying to promote?
