Here's your problem.  It's your permalink.  Go into your wordpress dashboard and to “Settings -> Permalink”.

Your permalink is set to %catagory% which is mis-spelled.  Change it to %category% and all should be well.  I didn't a have the “not turning into a hand/link” problem like you, the links work - they are just bad.  Your post titles do the same thing, but once you fix your permalink everything should be fine.

Funny, now that my comment area is working, my toolbar with buttons disappeared at the same time the comment area was fixed.  Could this be related? 

Sorry, I didn't word it right. I meant when you are making a post, not comment,  I don't have the toolbar with buttons.  I had it before but now it is gone after I got the comments problem fixed.    Also, after reading your great adsense tutorial, do you recommend any adsense plugins for getting adsense in your blog?
