I get lazy, and I don't build as many links as I should.   I SHOULD be building links each and every day (as easy as it is).  I think the easiest way to do this is by commenting on blogs, and that's the most productive too (for me), because I see what other people are doing, what widgets they have, and I get ALL KINDS of ideas for new posts on my blog(s).

So - if you're going to spend some time each day commenting on blogs, don't do what everybody else does and comment on Shoemoney and John Chow.  That's just a waste of time (and very, very kitchy too…). 

You want to concentrate on blogs that “dofollow” - and those that have the “commentLuv” plugin installed so your last blog post is automatically added under your comments.

How do you do that?  I'm glad you asked…you look for lists like the list of 100 CommentLuv installed blogs!  You also need to look for cool tools like the DoFollow Diver, a tool that searches more than 600 known dofollow blogs!

Another tool I use which might be of interest is in the SEO Quake browser plugin which scans every page I visit and tells me the status of all links on that page - no follow or do follow.

It is excellent and sticks a line through any no-follow links so you can see instantly when viewing a forum or blog if it is a waste of time. Saves me having to check the source code all the time.
