Product Reviews on JTPratt.com

I review a lot of products here on JTPratt.com from premium themes, to plugins, software, web services, and more. Many times I will receive a free copy of the plugin, theme, software, or web service in order to do the review. In fact – many times I’ll contact the company myself and ask them for a review copy for just that purpose. My opinions on the producs and services I review are completely honest based on my first experiences using them.

Affiliate Links and Commissions

When I review products and services on JTPratt.com, often times there is an “affiliate program” available – which I almost always sign up for. The links to the product from this site are “affiliate links” (if there is an affiliate program). In other words, if you click the link from the review here and go through an affiliate link to get there, if you purchase the product or service – I get a commission. This doesn’t affect my review in the least (like it does on some sites). In other words, I’m not going to give something a positive review just because I make money if you buy it by clicking a link through me. I’ll still call a piece of crap a piece of crap. In addition, I don’t even bother reviewing things that I don’t think are worth yours (or my) time. The only reason I bother with affiliate links is, it’s nice to have a little extra money at the end of the month for those that decide to buy a decent product based on my recommendation. It will never pay me back for the thousands of hours I blog on this web site, but it helps!

Income Disclosure

I have talked about how much money I’ve made on different projects in the past, and each time the income I talked about has been accurate. In fact – most of those posts have a scanned image or screenshot to support my claims.

Does Disclosure Hurt or Help?

I think on some so-called “expert” sites that if they were honest you probably wouldn’t ever visit their again. I think disclosure helps when you were honest in the first place as a blogger. This blog teaches people how to make money, I really don’t think the fact that I use affiliate links will surprise anyone.
