Ive used Linkreferral in the past. It DOES definatly get your brand out there with regard to other people in your niche/interest. However, it DOES take a little bit of effort to get any decent exposure on your site. We’re talking at least 20-30 mins a day to meet their requirements for you to get in the top 10 in your selected category.

Its great if youve got time to kill but if your a bit pushed, id give it a miss.

Entrecard can become addicting if a blogger allows it. Trying to get all of the possible drops in for a day without using a list is extremely time consuming. I was dropping through the inbox and my favorites to get to 300 drops daily on two accounts. I chose not to use a list because I wanted to “stop and smell the roses” on many blogs which is the whole point of the site.

While dropping every day is pretty non-productive I think I am going to make a point to go back and drop in my categories at least once a week to keep networking. Balance is definitely the key to Entrecard.

Entrecard is definitely a good tool for discovering new blogs and services, besides getting some traffic. Well, I was using Link Referral for one of my websites. It sends traffic. @Terry – honestly, I’m not really worried about it. The Louis Vuitton thing has been a known problem since the lawsuit began, and even if eBay loses it’s not going to backdate affiliate commissions anyway. My opinion is that the honus is on the person putting on the auction to show whether they have authentic goods or not. It shouldn’t be eBay’s problem at all any more than filesharing is an ISP’s problem. Probably what will happen is eBay will require auctions to show printed receipts or something, like with the Wii and xBox 360 auctions that were big problems.

Also – I think this is a good heads up to all affiliate marketers, don’t but all your eggs in one basket, i.e., don’t rely on just eBay (or Adsense, or Clickbank) for the majority of your monthly income…spread it around!

Sorry to speak off topic, but I was watching some hot breaking news on CBC this morning.
A Paris court has ordered eBay to pay out around £30m for allowing fake designer goods to be sold on the auction website.
The luxury firm Louis Vuitton and its sister company Christian Dior as well as four of its perfume brands – Dior, Guerlain, Givenchy and Kenzo – sued the website for “culpable negligence”.

They accused the site of putting on sale fake handbags, clothes and other luxury goods and of illicit sales of perfumes in a case that began over a year ago.
I was wondering if this will have any impact on your BANS initiatives on EBay, particularly “Handbag Whores”, how would you know if any handbag sales you get commissions on are conterfeit? Do you think there are any risks for affiliate marketers by promoting counterfeit goods even unknowingly? How would/could you determine if goods were counterfeit or not?

Thanks for the quick reply regards your free mashup script John. I am still having problems but think I have found a way round it which I will let you know when I get the site to go live. It actually looks great and I think you will like it.

Another great post here. I am not an avid entrecard user but it does have its benefits. As for linkreferral though…my Mrs has a blog and used to use this everyday. It pulled a fair amount of traffic (300-500 a month) but it is an awful lot of work. You do however get some great comments etc about your site but personally I got bored of it quite soon. I’d rather have the comments directly on my site and am not really into sites which require me to click loads of others to get people to click on mine. Maybe a good tool for new bloggers to build a bit of a fan base.

Thats my two cents anyway!
