Very useful post… I wish we all could do without G traffic and so I am personally always looking for new ways to get that non-G traffic… but then again we also need to ask ourselves on the quality of traffic and unfortunately (or fortunately?) G still delivers good quality traffic.

I have gone to msn to submit my sitemap and can’t find where to do it.

Would someone please be kind enough to explain how to do this.

@Chris – I’ve been very surprised how effective this can be, and the MSN crawler has been a bit more aggressive (and friendly) lately in indexing content. A few of my sites get a bit more traffic from this and I mean – come on, all you have to do is register!

Doing as you had suggested, like submitting a sitemap was the key. Seriously, just a few days after submitting I started bringing in almost 100 more uniques per day from MSN/LIVE alone.

Funny, getting indexed in Google never required any additional actions. But now I know not to mess around and immediately submit my sitemap from now forward.

@Chris – no I don’t do anything different link building for MSN, or Google, or Yahoo – but I did register my sitemap with MSN Search. Did you do that?

Second of all, I’m curious if you did any different type of link building, other than what you would do for Google?

Just curious, because my BANs stores are getting jack from MSN, but some from Google.

You can definitely make money with just Yahoo and MSN. My best performing BANS site only gets traffic from those two search engines. Hey, traffic is traffic.

You right that we can even make money without Google but I think it is really diffucult. Google must love you for organic traffic. =[]
